Breast pain and evening primrose oil

I have been getting a sore breast (left one) it feels bruised. I noticed that it seems to get better during my period, but like now - halfway through a packet of pills - it aches.

I saw the Nurse today and she said that I should try evening primrose oil. She didn't check me, and I feel a little fobbed off.

Any ideas? Should I try the EPO?

Yes - it really works. It helps to balance your hormones, apparently, which is what causes the breast pain/tenderness.

As my mum died from breast cancer getting this was really freaking me out, and EPO really keeps it at bay.

If you're still worried, go to your GP and ask to be examined.

It is only in one breast though. My paternal grandmother had breast cancer and so I guess I feel a little nervous about it.

However, someone told me paternal grandmothers do not a risk factor make!

I had exactly the same thing a year ago. I've a strong family history of bc so was terrified. I had a sore spot just in one part of one breast.Had a proper examination at breast clinic and it turned out to be nothing. I now take epo and it's much better. (push for a referral if you are worried tho, just to put your mind at rest) hth.
