My sil has been dx for some time and has been on medication aswell as seeing an alternative medical person. I dropped my dd off this morning at her house (she is also my cm) and her body is covered in the most awful, angry-looking, red blotches. Is there anyone who can tell me something about what can help her? TIA

Will do that Donbean; I was sort of hoping someone, somewhere would mention something that I could present her with later today that would ease the pain.....not much to ask eh?!
It made me wince when I saw these blotches - ouch!

Is she being looked after by a rheumatologist? This is the appropriate person to manage her condition. I have a friend with a related condition who was given a preparation by an aromatherapist that really helped. Sorry i don't know what it was, but you could seek advice from an araomatherapist and see if they suggest anything. I will put a watch on this thread and see if i can find out anything. Presumably this is Discoid eczema due to the Lupus?

Country harvest aromatherapy eczema preparation. If you need a stockist, the only one I know is in yorkshire, but you could try googling and see if there is somewhere near you?

I was misdiagnosed as having discoid lupus. I was prescribed steroid creams which cleared it up very quickly, even though it wasn't lupus.
What im trying to say is, had I actually had lupus, steroids would have been the treatment, topical or oral in severe cases.

Also vitaminns A,B,C & E, and Omega 3 fatty acids can help.

I have Lupus and get various skin problems but mostly get pains in my chest and legs thankfully mine doesn't flair up often, i can't help you sadly i have been dx but met with dr's who are hesitant to help as Lupus isn't widley studied and investigated.

I hope your SIL feels better soon.
