have been to the gp about it but basically she spends a few days having horrendous diahorria then followed by a few days of horrible constipation that is actually making her bleed when she manages to pass. Gp has said not lot can do but that seems a bit stupid. Am worried mainly because whether it is the diahorria or the constipation she seems to be in pain passing and grunts a lot. She has enfamil AR formula for her reflux which I have been reducing the amount she has and she has a fairly balanced diet with odd treats which doesnt change so any ideas????????

Does she have drinks of plain water? Babies on formula do need water as well. I would avoid juice for a little while and see if that helps. It is the usual thing of reading labels, checking for, and avoiding artificial sweetners/additives and keeping a food diary to see if anything in particular sets off the diarrhoea. Good luck - I hope it turns out to be something you can identify!

3littlefrogs she does have at least a couple of cups of water. We dont have juice etc as DS wont drink it. When it first started happening it was linked to teething but the past month there has not been any link[well no new teeth] she just seems to bounce from one to the other.

Nemo, I would be seriously tempted to see another doctor in your practice for a second opinion. I don't think "nothing can be done about it" is a satisfactory answer.
