DH went to the GP last week due to feeling generally unwell, headaches, tired, but shaky between meals, GP ran blood tests which all came back clear except from the serum ALT levels which are at 116. GP hasn't given us any other information and just said they would re run tests in 4 weeks. Should we be concerned? What are possible causes? How do we control it?

Sometimes viral infections can put up liver enzymes. I would do the same. Repeat in 4 weeks and they will probably return to normal.

A rise in ALT just on its own is very non-specific and the most likely thing is just a gastro virus (assuming he didn't start any new meds or start drinking to excess)

It's definitely reasonable to just repeat to see if it comes down. It might need further investigation if it didn't.

Did his symptoms get better?

His blood pressure was really high aswell190/120. Since going last week he says the symptoms have gone and he feels much better in himself. Have to go back next week as dr thinks although his blood pressure
Maybe slightly elevated, she believes a lot of it could be down to nerves of being in the doctors
