Impetigo doing the rounds - worried about baby

It's in both dd1's school and dd2's pre-school, and now even dd1's teacher has it! Neither dds have excema but they both get the usual cuts and grazes which are perfect entry points. My main concern is for baby ds who does have excema. I'm really worried about him as we keep getting messages sent home from the school about impetigo 'causing a serious infection' if not treated. I can't find anything about impetigo in babies and wondered if anyone has experience of this?

All I know is it is very infectious and not great for babies to get it.

Enid · 14/11/2006 11:43

it is not infectious after two days of antibiotics

kids and teachers who have it Should NOT be at school for 48 hours

Enid · 14/11/2006 11:43

it is not fatal or anything but it is horrible and can scar

So it is worse for babies than for children?
