Endometrial Ablation

I am booked in to have an endometrial ablation due to very heavy and painful periods. I was quite happy about having this, but have looked online and there are a lot of reports of women having post ablation syndrome, with complications and bad pain including back pain.

Has anyone had endometrial ablation and has anything positive or negative they can tell me about it?

I had one about two years ago and I have had much lighter periods ever since, which has been brilliant. However I now have to take painkillers on the first day of my period, which I didn't have to do previously. For me it is a trade-off I'm happy with.

That's what worries me. I have endometriosis and terrible period pains, and would hate to have this operation only for the pains to get worse!! However, good that you have lighter periods.
