DD1 has this illness and is very grumpy, and complaining about the spots in her mouth the doctor just recommended Priton and calpol, but anyone know how to soothe her mouth? Also how long should she stay away from nursery?

calgel (like calpol but in the form of a teething gel) is good as it is for children. This illness is fairly contagious - be careful as you can catch it as an adult and in adults it tends to be more painful. I caught it from my DD1 and was quite ill for about a week - esp. sore mouth and can sympathise with your DD. Hope she is feeling better soon.

ICE CREAM. Use Mackays, its traditionbal with double cream and no additives etc.
