Hi all I'm 24 and everytime my periods are due I feel so sick stomach cramps dizziness head aches back pain, I some times feel that poorly I have to stay in bed, it happens 2-3 days before coming on..I think it's the more nausea part that I can't handle the most! Does any one else feel like this, any know why I feel like this? And any ideas how I can feel 'normal' again? Thanks

Is this a short term problem or has the lead up to menses always been like this?. Are you on the pill?.

Cyclical pain up to and including menses should be checked out further to establish the cause. I say this as sometimes endometriosis can cause such cyclical pain.

I would see your GP and ask for a referral to a gynae (do not take no for an answer!); something is causing this to happen and it is in your interests to find out why. I suggest a gynae referral as many GPs are simply not knowledgeable enough when it comes to such issues.

I would also keep a daily pain (note pain on scale from 1-10) and symptom diary if you do not already do so as this could help the gynae as well.

This is going into the 3rd month of it happening now, I'm not on the pill or any contraception (apart from condoms) I had the coil taken out over a year ago because I suffered with head aches, but once that was out periods and my self was fine well for a while up until now! I plan on going doctors tomorrow (if I have energy to move) and I'm not going to let them fob me off I honestly don't think I can cope with any more months feeling like this Sad

Thanks Katie I'm hoping I will get in tomorrow morning, it's not so much the cramping I'm too fussed about its the sickness and dizziness for me, has being on the pill cleared that up for you?
