weird feeling in right hand

I have been having a weird feeling in my right hand since Thursday. It started in my index finger. Almost as if the joint was stiff and the finger was swollen (but its not swollen) and the feeling has spread to my other fingers, its almost a numbness with a little tingling. I goggled (bad idea) and als came up - which has terrified me.
Has anyone experienced this?

Possibly a trapped nerve from your elbow or wrist?

Yes, its amazing how quickly other symptoms manifest as soon as google presents me with an illness (and of course they are always incurable illness that point to a horrible death).

Have you been using a mouse with the computer a lot lately? It could be repetitive strain syndrome. You can also get something like this from a shoulder strain or again working on a keyboard, typing etc. As the tendons run all the way from the shoulder into the fingers.

If you're worried just give the gp a visit. I get tingly/numb fingers from an old shoulder injury.

Could be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency. Google will always show worse case scenario.

Definitely not als so don't worry about that. I have known several people with it and that's not how it presents. Id say a trapped nerve.
