I got a bite from a insect over a week ago on my ankle.I had only a slight itch for the first two days then on the third day within the space of 4 hours,my ankle swelled,it was bright red and burning hot.I had two small pin prick marks which had raised edges which touched each other,leaving a mark resembling the number 8.This mark was a solid lump.After what felt like my ankle being hit by a sledgehammer I went to the docs who told me I had a secondary infection.I was giving antibiotics and antihistimine.The following day my ankle was tender to touch and visible bruises along the side of my foot.I have now finished my 7 day course and the bite is still very itchy,sore and has a rash like appearance and what looks like a tiny black dot on one of the puncture sites.What could it be and what is my next step?
