Chicken Pox Etiquette

Just after some advise really please?!

My 3 year old Dd has has the chicken pox rash since Thursday. Obviously she has been completely housebound and will remain that way until all scabbed over.

I'm supposed to be going out tomorrow afternoon to watch a football game but I'm not sure whether I should or not as one of the guys I'll be with has a Wife who's 14 weeks pregnant.

I myself have had the chicken pox in early childhood but I'm unsure whether I can still be a carrier?!

I can't seem to get an answer on NHS website, am I ok to get out and about?!

It's unlikely but I was told by the midwife to be careful as a pregnant women who's not immune. If she's never had it they do a blood test at booking to check immunity. Can you ask her if she's had it?
Very very unlikely for you to pass it on, and quite likely she's had it, but best to ask

Could she catch shingles from the OP, ARC?

I'm not sure. I stay away from anyone with either as I know I'm not immune just to be on the safe side

You can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles but not the other way round.

Are you watching the football with the pregnant lady? Or just her husband. Second senarioz got for it. First scenario, its almost certainly OK, but might be worth seeing if she has had chicken pox. If she has, its almost certain to be fine.

Thank you for all the replies, I checked with the Husband and they have both had chicken pox themselves so were happy for me to still tag along. All was good...apart from the result!!
