Tranexamic acid advice

Hi I'm 25 and I had my 3rd baby on 7th January, all fine normal pregnancy and delivery ( except for the awful HG throughout and iron tablets throughout the entire pregnancy ) as soon as I had my baby I bled for 6 weeks afterwards, which has been normal for me, 4 weeks later I got my 1st period which lasted 10days, again sort of normal, usually lasted 5-7 days but I just put that down to having a baby, anyways 4 weeks later my 2nd period began and it's still going 5 weeks later with no signs of stopping, I went to the doctors and was prescribed tranexamic acid but nothing seems to be happening, I have to go back and have tests done, swabs, smear etc when the bleeding stops, but was given no explanation what they do, how long they take to work, what could be wrong etc, Google is my worst enemy at the moment as all the diagnosis I come across are all bad, anyone been through this or know how long the tablets take to work? Any advice would be grately appreciated, as I've never had this before, many thanks :) Xxx

Have you actually been referred to a gynaecologist as yet, the cause of what is happening needs to be properly determined. If this has not happened I would return to the GP (not anyone you have seen to date) and insist on being referred. This is not a problem for a GP, its outside their remit.

I just started taking tranexamic acid (Cyklo-F). 2 tablets, 3 times a day for duration of period.
They worked immediately for me. I had used them years ago so knew they would.
I would go back to the gp if you have had no difference in your blood loss volume as they should work with the first use (afaik).

Thanks for the reply, I haven't been refered to anyone yet, I visited a female doctor on Wednesday, she's not my usual doctor as I requested a female for the appointment, was just told to take them and come back once the bleeding stops in a week or two so they can do swab tests etc, I'm on day 2 of taking 2 tablets 3 times a day, there is a 2 week wait for doctors appointments, my next appointment is 3rd June, is it worth visiting a walk in centre maybe?
