ill cut a long story short. I went to the doctor for a lump on my neck beat my law line he said its a gland, it's big. He then said that because I had been a feet knew due to my tonsils he's going to refer me to an ENT. I asked him if I should be worried he said no. I asked what he thinks it is ( I asked about 3 times ) he said an infection, or an infection starting, he said something about wanting to gete checked as I've got a few infections lately ... My blood work (CBC) was fine which he mentioned. Also said he would send me as urgent if be was worried. I'm terrified. I've a 5 month old son. I can't bare the thought of anything bad happening ...

If he was worried about what you are worried about, your feet wouldn't touch the ground, you would be seen under the two week rule. He is not going to be economical with the truth. He wants to know why you are getting repeat infections, it could be glandular fever as one of the million things it could be. I assume your blood count was done as part of your general blood test.

Of course you will worry, but the fact he hasn't done an urgent referral is really reassuring.

I know its horrible, i suffer from anxiety and its difficult not to let the bad thoughts run riot, just distract yourself and don't fiddle!

He said he hadn't done an urgent referral but when I asked how long he said weeks, I guess maybe he didn't wanna worry me more telling me how many weeks as I've read it can take up to 12 weeks. I also suffer terribly with HA. So it's not easy to deal with, I have a sworn Tonsil which I've had a whole and been told by a lot of doctors it's nothing but it was infected at one point. He also said my throat is congested but I have literally muse caught my partners cold.

I once went to the Drs in hysterics because i thought my tonsils were tumours! It was at that point i was given medication for my anxiety!

It sounds like a case of infections to me and maybe time for the tonsils to come out? ouchie but not dangerous
