I'm fairly sure I need to see a doctor but I'm worried I'd be wasting their time, can anyone help?

Over the past year I have been fainting or feeling faint. I've only actually hit the floor 3 times but will feel faint about every other day.

I smoke (8-10 a day, i know I need to stop) and it usually happens while I'm smoking or straight after. I have cut down because its a horrible feeling, but i will try to stop soon. It also happens when I'm not smoking, usually when I've been stood up for a while or first thing in the morning. Sometimes I don't feel faint but I'm really shakey.

Apart from this and feeling like i have no energy, I'm fine. It does go off quickly afterwards, especially if I eat something. Is it likely to just be my blood pressure dropping when I smoke? Do you think they will just tell me to stop smoking and see if it goes away?

It could well be linked to low blood pressure (hypotension) which would also link in with the shakiness. Definitely get it checked in case it's something more sinister, and also for advice on managing it. With fainting you only need to knock your head on a corner or something to have a huge problem. Get it checked out!!
