Am 39 next yr and have noticed periods speeding up and not as regular. E.g Had last period during half term I think, so just over two weeks is it? Now another. Am I heading toward menopause or is there another reason anyone can think of?? Ta in advance.

I'm going in today for removal of a uterine polyp. Had exactly these symptoms plus occasional slight bleeding between periods.

Had assumed it was either approaching menopause or hormonal probs as I'd had the same thing before I had children - turned out it was something totally different. That time they just put me on the pill.

So go to see your GP - it'll only get worse.

I had this - and GP insisted that a cycle which varied randomly between 15 and 21 days was normal. Have since changed GP!

oh Bloody Nora

I've had pain and slight bleeding at ovulation and now periods coming 3 weeks apart. I can't ignore it for any longer can I. Bugger, hope it is Old Gimmerage and not, you know, the "other"

will watch this thread with interest

Yikes - how are you feeling (apart from totally dumbstruck)? definately not old Gimmerage then (A new MN phrase? Not heard it before!)

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 10/11/2006 14:32

Eeek niceglasses.

Mine are getting closer together but regular IYSWIM currently 23 days. Pretty sure mine is Old Gimmerage - I like that phrase.

mmmm. Hands of Gods now, so will just have to wait it out. Feel like living in Topsy Turvy land today.

Eeek - that is a development niceglasses !!

I'm definitely heading the old gimmerage way however - never know when I'm going to start these days ... last period was August 31st ( the date is etched on my brain as I was footling around Dunkerque trying to find the bloody ferry terminal with an incredibly bored 3 1/2 yr old in the back!! - and I missed the bloody boat and had to wait 2 hours for the next one) and it was 2 weeks after my last period ... Now - Nothing - not a feckin' scooby - sore boobs and pulling feeling in my tum off and on though ... actually maybe I ought to do a test ... No I'm way too old .. No definitely gimmerage approaching

niceglasses - best of luck.

Obviously NOT a polyp in your case! If anyone is interested in removal of uterine polyp i've got a thread on it - and i had mine done yesterday & it was a piece of cake. LOL

Niceglasses - one of my friends who thought after years of trying that she couldn't have kids got pg just as she thought she was beginning the menopause. Bit of a shocker!

Happened to my aunt too - she went on to have another.

Hope it works out for you.
