How long to recover after wisdom teeth extracted?

I had two of mine extracted a week ago under general anesthetic. My mouth is still sore and I still haven't recovered my energy levels. House is a tip as I can only do the bare minimum. Just wondering how long it took others to recover? Thanks.

It took me at least 5 days and I had 2 removed under sedation. The pain got worse before it got better. You haven't got something called dry socket have you? Google it as that can be a common side effect after wisdom teeth removal. Might be worth a trip to the dentist.

Thanks Joneseygirl77. I hope I haven't got dry socket :( I did wonder about that last night, but felt a bit better again this morning.

Depends what you mean by recover. My whole jaw felt clenched up and tense and wouldn't open very far, and after a week, you could see a bit of bruising on the outside of my jaw, and my tongue got ruffles all around the edges from being rammed up against my other teeth, which was no doubt all a reaction to the physical trauma, and that didn't subside for about 2 weeks, after which it was several weeks before my jaw stopped clicking when I opened my mouth beyond a certain point. However, other than that, I didn't find it stopped me getting on with my daily life. Regular warm salty water mouth rinses for about 10 days helped.

It took me about two weeks to feel normal again - I took Berocca to try to up my energy.

Once the stitches dropped out I felt much better.
