Anyone with experience of dealing with PCOS symptoms?

Hi all, ok I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of years ago, had always suspected some sort of hormone imbalance tbh. Know there is a whole variety of ways PCOS can express itself, of which I have: irregular periods (ranging from no periods for months at a time, to bleeding which has lasted for 4 months until intervention with OC), adult acne, thinning hair/ hair loss. Don't have issues with weight gain to date. Does anyone else have experience of dealing with PCOS? Any tips, particularly with the hair loss?! Have just bought some Nizoral shampoo, am completely unrealistically hoping for luscious mane like results ;)

Hi Alpaca, thanks for reply, I'm not currently taking any prescribed medication. My current Dr has been a bit crap actually and not really especially interested in the topic. I'm looking for new GP. Is Metformin for insulin regulation? I don't really have any issues with controlling weight, but do have very irregular periods. Are there any implications for pregnancy? I'm not currently TTC but would like to at some point.
