Started pill mid cycle, now bleeding...

Started taking the contraceptive pill 10 days ago, started taking mid cycle so my period would have been due soon. I have cramping and spotting, as I'm still taking the pill ( not on the week break ) will the bleeding be lighter and not last as long or will I have a normal period? I was hoping I wouldn't bleed at all until the end of the packet .

You can get irregular bleeding if you do this as pill is competing with your own hormones. Might be worth running 2 packs together before having break.

I always get this if I start a packet mid cycle. For me the only thing to do was the finish the packet, take the 7 day break then start again. Running two packets together just meant I spotted for longer. After the break and starting the next packet I was fine. It's a bummer though.

Thank you, still spotting, have just over a week before my 7 day break , hopefully it will settle down.
