Is this herpes?

For years now, when I am stressed, I get a few sore itchy patches in my pubic region. They are not in the vagina, but in my bikini area, where the hair is. Is this herpes? They are quite small. Very itchy and very sore.

Thanks Blush.

Could be, are they red? do they resemble blisters at all? You can have the lesions swabbed at an STD clinic for confirmation when they appear.

Not blisters as such. They bleed and weep a little bit when I scratch them. Yes, they're red.

Thanks for responding, by the way.

Herpes by nature is a blistering disease so they'll look like little fluid filled swellings and will itch as you say. I wouldn't worry, they are just like cold sores, but not on the face! They will come up when you're a bit run down or stressed like you say. There are loads of different things you can do like make sure you have loads of vitamins and there are drugs you can get for them too but overall they're pretty benign so nothing to worry for :)

As the others have said herpes are little fluid filled blisters. The only way to know for sure what's going on is to show it to your GP or GUM clinic - not a bunch of strangers on an Internet forum!

I don't have health insurance and whenever they come up, I'm broke and can't afford the doctors! Actually, there is probably a connection between being broke and being stressed…
