I have been suffering with abdominal pain for 3 weeks now. It spreads across my tummy and from my right ribs down to my hip. I was admitted to hospital as they suspected appendicitis, after bloods and a scan, this was not the case. I was discharged and told to see my doctor if it persisted.
I did this and was prescribed omeprazole to see if it was acid related, this was then changed to ranitidine as it actually gave me acid reflux. It did not help my stomach pain.

Last week my doctor sent me to hospital again as he could not figure out what was wrong. They did bloods again and everything was fine so they arranged an endoscopy in June. Was again told to return if things continued.

Today, I started to get quite strong pelvic pain, lower than normal. I rang 111 for advice and was told to take paracetamol and call back if it got worse. The pain has again settled on my right side and was accompanied by stabbing pain in my stomach.

I really don't know whether to contact anyone again as I feel like I'm bothering them. I had a bad experience in hospital the first time round and feel like I'm annoying my doctor!

Has anyone else had these symptoms? what was wrong? I'm starting to feel like I'm imagining it!

Mmmm you have to persist with going to A&E. It could be an Ovarian Cyst. Unusual severe pain is NOT normal so you really have no choice but to persist in being a nuisance at A&E. Diagnosis is sometimes not easy as it is not an exact Science.
My friend was recently operated on with a twisted bowel. She had been admitted and discharged twice before she was scanned.
You need an ultra sound scan wouldn't you say?
Some pains can be psychological, such as your tummy bloating through tension and anxiety.
Anyway, so what if you are thought to be a nuisance at A&E if it saves your life?

They have done an abdominal ultrasound but I'm starting to wonder if I need an internal one. I feel guilty going to a &e because it's ongoing but no one else wants to do anything!

Oh poor you. But you have to persist.
I have pain from an Ovarian Cyst operation and sometimes the scarred tissue affects the region and I have nasty short stabbing pains. However it is not persistent.
I think persistent pain is a cause for concern.
Scans can be misleading.
The last thought on my mind would be that I was being a nuisance.
I would be thinking about saving my life and having every test imaginable.

thanks for your replies.
just got back from my doctors as I had a terrible night in pain. They have referred me for a pelvic scan but not sure on the wait. He was not bothered at all. I feel absolutely rubbish today. He didn't examine me or do any observations.

I give up!

I could've written this post myself and I'm just heading back to the dr with horrendous pelvic pain. I've been told I have IBS after negative, helecobacter test, inconclusive endoscopy, negative coeliac test, negative gallbladder scan x2 (all tests spread over 2.5 yrs). I'm awaiting a colonoscopy which will hopefully give a conclusive diagnosis (I hope) I feel like I live in my gp surgery but Im so tired of feeling rubbish ALL the time and just feel so down about it all!
Please persevere with the gp, maybe see if you can speak with a different Dr in the surgery? I now see the same GP every visit which is good and she's fairly sympathetic after I cried at an appointment.
Hope you feel better soon.

All those tests are negative for me too, and I don't have my gallbladder anymore. They keep saying it's ghosting pain from that or IBS. I'm not sure why they think doing an endoscopy is appropriate!

I feel tired and sick all the time and I'm looking increasingly pregnant as the day goes on! My scan is Friday and I pray to God that they find something.
I've been seeing the same doctor. I was very teary eyed today as he said he was sending me away but he did not give a damn!
