Hi there,
Any advice on the mirena coil. I had it fitted Wednesday it's now Saturday. Bleeding has stopped but still getting odd pains in belly area. I can only describe it like the healing process of having a cesarean (for those that have had one. A pulling feeling. Also a bit constipated, So not sure if the pain is that or the coil. Or am I constipated because of the coil? 1st time trying the coil, so very wary of pains.

I've had mine for three years now and can honestly say it was the best thing I ever did. I did get a few odd cramps for the first couple of weeks and then after that nothing.

Sorry that's not much help, hope it works for you like it has me.

It's normal to get a bit of crampyness for a week or two after a coil fit as your uterus settles down to what is basically a foreign body. The constipation could be due to a bit of pelvic congestion numbing the nerves down there. Again this should settle in a short time. Try a mild aperient, or some sugar free sweeties (sorbitol is laxative) or what ever you usually take for constipation if you need to 'kick-start' your bowels.

Thank you, it seems to haven calmed down a bit today. So hopefully all OK. Bleeding has stopped. Which I guess is a good sign things are settling. Thanks again xx
