Weight loss after starting levothyroxine

About two months ago I was very underactive thryoid (t4 was 8 and TSH 54!). I was started on levothyroxine and now my t4 is 15 and tsh 4, and I am feeling much better - less tired and achy. Since
starting on the medication though I have lost 7lbs, and I was skinny to to start with so it is not ideal. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

It is normal to lose weight on the Thyroxine as usually when very underactive you put on lots of weight.

I was 7stone 9 when I became overactive and lost lots of weight despite eating non-stop.
When my Thyroid went underactive, due to the treatment I put on 2 stone in 10 weeks.
Did you not gain weight when you became very underactive?

I am 9 months post paetum and although I had lost most of my baby weight (I always lost baby weight v quickly with previous dds 2) I never quite shifted the last 3lbs so was hovering around 8 stone 3. (Pre preg was 8 stone). Then went v underactive but the weigh has literally dropped off me since starting they medication - I'm now 7 stone 10 and feeling v self conscious about how skinny I look.

Y, you'd expect weight loss after starting levo. But with a thyroid that underactive most people would have been overweight.
My thought is there's something else going on. Is your thyroid autoimmune (Hashimoto's)? If so you are at risk for other autoimmune illnesses.
I'd go back to the GP and explain that you're concerned that you are underweight and would like tests.

Your TSH and T4 are within normal range, but if your weight now is not your normal and you feel you look too thin, you could see your GP. They will probably say it is due to you now having a crawling baby and 2 other young DCs to look after. And even tell you to eat more.

What is your Levothyroxine dosage?

Thanks - will speak to GP. The weight only dropped off after I started the thyroxine, and possibly I don't eat enough given that I am running around after three little ones, but I do feel too thin so will speak to GP anyway.

I lost weight very quickly when first starting levothyroxine a stone over a few weeks . My GP then dropped the dose down before gradually building up again and was then fine
