Cardiologist in London - any recommendations?

Just that really. DM has some heart problems including heart failure and she's in and out of A&E, not really being seen regularly by anyone other than the A&E docs, drug regime changing all the time with no ongoing plan. GPs are doing their best but I don't think she's got the right treatment plan in place and I'd like her to see someone who will take time with her.

Anyone recommendations for someone who will take an overview of her conditions and spend time advising her? Good bedside manner really important.

do you want nhs or private ?

Private really. We're getting nowhere with the NHS. She goes into A&E, sees the emergency docs, they change her meds, she gets discharged and the GPs try to manage. She was on the Heart Failure clinic books but only ever saw a nurse.

I recently took my dad to see Dr Syed Ahsan. He is a cardiologist who we saw privately recently. He was very down to earth with a great bed side manner and is very thorough and clear in his approach. He is based in central London but we saw him in hendon. He was recommended to us by a friend and we have been very happy with him. Hope this helps.

That's perfect workaholic. Thank you so much.

You don't necessarily need a private appointment. You can see all the same docs via NHS at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Absolutely peerless treatment there - and (unfortunately) I have had experience of many different hospitals, including quite a few in London.

I am seeing a private cardiologist on Tuesday in Harley Street - will let you know how I get on and what I think of her. Previously saw a specialist at Papworth and he was terrible. So hoping she is better.

Just to update - saw the consultant today - she was excellent, took all my details and history, sorted out tests, put a plan of action in place and has set up appointments for further tests and a follow up appointment to discuss the results and where we go from there. I was really pleased with whole process. I am ff for an MRI at the London Heart Hospital next week. Hoping to get all this sorted.
