Bleeding stitches

The advice I was given was to keep the area dry and change the bandage after 24 hours. There is quite a lot of blood on the bandage where it's bled a bit after surgery.

Should I change the dressing tonight so it stays dry? When I googled 11stupid I know-- the advice seemed to be if it got 'wet' with blood the dressing should be changed.

Not sure what to do!

I'm surprised they're telling you to change your own dressings.

When are you having your stitches out? I would get in touch with the district nurses or healthcare centre that you'll be attending and book into their treatment room for a look at it and a dressing change.

Is it wet or dry now?
