Why don't ANY antihistamines work for me?

I'm severely allergic to all animals. Severe asthma, swelling running eyes etc. Trouble is I love animals and have always wanted pets. But no antihistamines ever seem to work very well, or even at all tbh.

I've tried them all, but nothing seems to have much effect. I've bought some rabbits for dd, and they live outside. But even feeding them makes me ill. I just want to stroke them Sad

Even prescription ones like fexofenadine? That's the only one I've found that works for me.

I don't know about prescription one. My doctor just told me to keep away from animals. But I'm bloody sick of it. I don't want to keep away from themSad

I take fenofexadine every day in the summer as my hayfever kicks off my asthma. I'm also mega allergic to 99.9% of animals, with the exception of my gorgeous wee puppy we've had for 5 weeks. He's a cross between a lhasa apso and a toy poodle, therefore doesn't shed at all, and has wool rather than fur Smile

Randomly, I'm allergic to both poodles and lhasas but not the cross breed.....

You need a referral to allergy clinic.

Fenofexadine comes in super strong from them Grin

I started on Fenofexadine (Telfast) 180 plus piriton - 4 a day and now don't need to take anything, several years on!!!

They try and blast it to calm it down and then see where it goes from there. Mine got far worse during my 3rd pregnancy tbf.

I now have 2 cats and a dog, at first I did suffer but then the symptoms just got "masked". However I don't have asthma so I was never compromising the ability to breathe...
