My 3.5 yr old son gave up his dummy willingly about 6 months ago, and has since started sucking his thumb only when tired or upset. Now both his thumbs are really sore and chapped, I have put some vaseline on them, anyone one know whats best to use, that doesnt taste too bad as he's off nursery sick so hes sucking his thumb a lot today?

No ideas, but I'd try your hv for tips, they'll proabbly be able to come up with ideas for stopping the thumb sucking too.

DD is a thumb sucker. I put vaseline on hers if it gets sore.

Dd's sometimes looks really sore, but I don't think I'd be able to stop her sucking it - especially as I still wake up some mornings and my thumb's soggy!

The other day dd asked me for a babywipe so she could clean her thumb. We'd been at the park and she wanted to wipe the dirt off so she could suck it as she was tired.
