Bit of an embarrassing one...

I'm having a bit of a problem with my bum at the moment! Basically, my vagina started to become sore and stingy, it started with just my clitoris and since, it has spread to the rest of the outside of my vagina which is red and sore and itches a lot. I haven't had any strange discharge but I know this still might be thrush. I've had thrush before and the outside of my vagina gets very itchy and sore.

However my bum has gotten very itchy and sore too. Like, the "hole" (apologies for upcoming tmi) the last week or so it's been painful going to go to the toilet. It stings and there s a bit of blood. It's bright red blood so I'm not overly concerned that it's anything too sinister. But over the last few days, my actual bum crack has gotten sore and itchy. When I scratch it it feels as if there is some kind of discharge, not thick just like the regular amount you would get coming from the other end. I've also noticed that it's started to become uncomfortable to go to the toilet, kind of from the inside. Whereas it hurts when I go from my actual bum, in my abdomen it feels uncomfortable when I push, it's not necessarily painful but it is uncomfortable. As if I have a build up of gas or something but I don't. I'm also going a lot more, usually it would be once every other day or so, now it's more like 3 times a day. I'm not eating any more than usual and I'm not sure if all of this is linked, just seems coincidental that it all happened at the same time.

Basically I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. I know you can get thrush in the back as well as the front so I don't know if maybe it's that. I don't want to go to the doctor if it's not necessary. I clean myself in the shower so I doubt it's a hygiene issue.

You might want to look at my post earlier on vulvar eczema- sounds similar- and it can spread to bum (the whole area basically), go to gp but don't get treatment for thrush unless the specifically test you & know that's what it is or the treatment will make you worse. There's lots of skin conditions- psoriasis etc that can occur just in those areas. Does the itching get worse at night? Classic sign of skin problem down there. But go to gp & see.

Also when you mention cleaning in shower, worse thing you can do is to use any products down there. My gynae says water only as all products are irritants if it's a skin condition

Yeah I onky use water to clean down there. I used to get bad UTI's when I was a teenager and so I stopped using shower gels and things. The itchiness gets bad at random times during the day to be honest. If it is a skin condition, do you think that would have anything to do with the soreness/bleeding etc that I'm having when I use the toilet or is it just coincidence that I'm having the itchy redness at the same time as the other symptoms?

I would imagine when you do a poo you are tearing the damaged skin there and that's where the bleeding is coming from- like little fissures. But you need to see gp as at that stage you'll need proper diagnosis & the right cream to get on top of it. They've seen it all and I've lost all dignity now and you'll feel much better once you go and get it looked at Smile

I have eczema in that area and it can bleed. I had to have steroid cream to help when it was diagnosed.
