Irregular periods?

Hiya, over the last 6/7 months I've been tracking when I have a period. Looking back, my cycle has been anywhere between 26 and 35 days. Does this count as irregular? As far as I can recall, they've always been like this. I'm quite worried about how it'll effect our chances when we come to start ttc. Is it worth mentioning to my GP?

TIA

Have just rechecked and actually over the last 9 months it's been anywhere between 26 and 36 days with each period lasting between 3 - 6 days. That's not normal is it?

Yes it is normal. The 'range ' is something like 24 days to 35 days . some women even go down to 21 days.

I had/ have irregular periods (currently pregnant) - I have never ever had a regular cycle in my life. I went to the GP and they didn't seem too concerned. I was also TTC then so I was a bit worried.

But I conceived pretty easily both times (couple of cycles). I just tried to become more aware of the different points in each cycle.

I would have pushed it further if I hadn't have conceived relatively quickly, but it isn't necessarily a problem.

Thanks both, that's a relief. I thought that range meant that some people got 24 days per months and some people got 35 days per month - rather than one person ranging that far.

Betsy I'm glad to hear you've conceived easily twice :)

Charlie

I would not worry about your particular cycle length. A "normal" cycle is a cycle length of between 21 and 35 days or with less than 4 days of variation from month to month.

Medical advice should be sought if there are marked changes to a cycle for instance these becoming increasingly infrequent or become more painful.

i would say it was irregular.

before i had children my periods were 28 days every cycle. since having kids they can be 22 days one cycle with 5 days bleeding, and the next month 35 days with 3 days of bleeding.

my understanding of 'normal' cycle lengths was that a 35 day cycle every month was normal, so is 22 days each month.
a mix of lengths each month would irregular to me.
