7 Month Old DS With A Cough - Should I Take Him To GP?

Hiya,
Both my DS and I had a cold, and now we have a cough. Nothing weird, just a "normal" cough. Both have runny noses aswell - but should I take DS to GP? Not sure what he could/would do, but, do you take them at this age?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have a 3yr old and 8.5 month old who both have hacking coughs, ds1 since Friday and ds2 since today. I'm planning on taking them both to GP tomorrow unless they make a remarkable recovery overnight.

For a normal cough in the baby I probably wouldn't unless it was persistent (4/5 days maybe) or getting worse. If he's got an infection GP would give antibiotics.

Hope you both feel better soon .

sounds like the same thing me and dd have. its been a nightmare putting her off to bed as everytime she goes down she's been waking herself up coughing. i have given her Benylin (Tixylix also has the same active ingredient -glycerol) and it has worked a treat. it is safe from 3 months.

Attempted Tixylix, downfall of BLW is he wants to do it himself! Ill give it until about Tuesday then
