Bartholins cyst??

I've got a GP appointment tomorrow to discuss what I originally thought was scar tissue from the botch job done of my stitches after youngest child was born.

However, I've just had a good look down there in a mirror and as well as the scar tissue, there is what looks very much like a marble sized, round fluid filled thing which google seems to think is probably a Bartholins Cyst. It seems to be more central on my labia though and Bartholins are meant to be to one side or other - however with the state of my pelvic floor repair I wouldn't be too surprised if things were a bit wonky.

Has anyone ever had one? I thought they hurt, but apparently thats only if they get infected. What do they do about it? Google seems to think that they may not treat it unless infected but I really want it removed, its getting bigger!

Hi. I had one two weeks ago. Had antibiotics for it as it was sore and infected. Mine was quite central (if there is a central after two babies)!!. Mines come back twice now, no mention of them removing it though. It goes flat after tablets. X

I've had one for around 18 months that I'm aware of it causes me no trouble so it could of been there longer for all I know.

I've had one give me trouble before. When it grows bigger and gets painful I get antibiotics and it goes down and gives me no more trouble. No talk of removal when I've been to the doctor's either.

I have had two in the last 10 years. The first (around 8 years ago) was horrendous and I ended up in hospital and had to have it removed. The second one, a few months ago, didn't get so bad and disappeared after a course of antibiotics - I think because I recognized the symptoms straight away I was at the doctors in a shot!

Having looked at it more I'm not sure what it is now. I know that ever since the stitches I had post-DS, there has been a small round lump there which I always thought was scar tissue or rubbish stitching. But that lump has now grown pretty huge and looks very much like a cyst.

I've had it twice in same place and both when I was pregnant! Antibiotics never worked for me and ended up having surgery (which was absolutely fine), both times. No problems since and that was 2 years ago. I'm sure if I get pregnant again thought I will be back!!!!x

I had one a little while ago. I tried Dr Google treatments which involved very hot salty baths. It worked after only 2 days and so much stuff came out it would have made the MN Sporners weep with joy. Honestly, it just went on for minutes, was so good.
