Incontinence

I'm booking an appointment in the morning with the gp - if I can get one. I believe I have some form of incontinence I seem to leak without knowing, I had a driving lesson today and really didn't realise until I left the car that I was wet :( I know I shouldn't but I feel very embarrassed. I'm just wondering what I might expect from the appointment.

Oh poor you, Flowers. It's normal to feel embarrassed but the doctor won't be, so try to just feel a bit annoyed at the nuisance instead!
Dr should take a history of the symptoms, when/volume (a little leakage or large amount), any other symptoms (are you more thirsty, put on or lost weight, general health etc), Gynae and childbirth history, dipstick urine for signs of infection or sugar. Maybe ask you for mid-stream sample for lab testing. Should examine your lady parts looking for prolapse or other physical signs. Depending on what Dr finds you should expect a referral to Gynae or Urology, maybe Continence Service or Physio.
Best of luck.
