Hi
pic attached. I keep having flares of red patches on my face across my cheeks both sides. I use nothing but a moisturiser that I have used for along time, I drink lots of water ect.

I have seen a rheumatologist for joint pains, swelling and other bits and bobs, could the skin thing be relevant? Its across both cheeks doesn't itch but looks horrid.

Tia

Have you been tested for auto immune diseases? Lupus or Scleroderm spring to mind.

Thanks for answering coco. yes I have all clear except for a positive thyroid antibody and a positive ana.

I feel like I am being ignored a little by rheumatology, and I don't feel like they are linking the symptoms.

I know you ave have skin problems connected to your thyroid, my friend gets a similar rash under her eyes. She has an underactive thyroid.
It also looks similar to a rash I get, mine is usually in my hands and fingers, though Ive had it on my face before. I have Lupus.
I would keep pushing rheumatology. I know its a pain getting answers Flowers

Thanks again coco
Can I ask how long it took for you to receive your diagnosis?.

I have had lots of bloods the ones I have listed and ferritin, folate and vitamin were off. I also had a ultrasound of my joints which showed fluid but getting rheumatology to give me any diagnosis is proving tricky. I'm not sure everything is thyroid related myself.

Not long at all actually. I had been to my gp convinced it was my thyroid causing fatigue and hair loss. When it can back normal she thought I might have fibromyalgia because of joint pain. I think it was about the secind or third visit my rheumatologist mention Lupus.
I actually have clear blood tests, mine was diagnosed on symptons. I had kept a photo of a facial rash I had after a hysterectomy.

Thanks coco. I will take along the photo of the rash as no doubt it won't be there the next time I see rheumatology.
Most of my symptoms don't fit a thyroid disorder so I feel there is two things going on with my immune system.

Good luck tubby I hope you get some answers. Do you wear a sun screen on your face? If not I would reccommend it just in case it is Lupus or similar.
