Needle Biopsy

I'm due to have a needle biopsy on a lump in my armpit next week. Has anyone has experience of this and can tell me if I will be able to drive myself home from the hospital afterwards?

(and if it hurts please!)

I had an ellipsis biopsy on my elbow a little while ago, which, I think, is "bigger".
They used some local anaesthetic and I was absolutely fine to drive myself home afterwards. Felt nothing of it at all, 4 stitches afterwards and it was quite uncomfortable for a few weeks.
With hindsight I should not have taken ds along as he had to wait outside.

Ah brilliant, that's what I wanted to hear! Thank you!

Hope everything goes well for you Flowers

I had this on a breast lump near my armpit, and it was just as Pippi describes. I was in a kind of dentist's chair type thing and the needle was guided by consulting an ultrasound screen, but that might not be applicable for you. No stitches in my case, just steristrips arranged like an asterisk (which the nurse said she did for fun to look pretty, not because it needed more than one or two!). Really hope it goes well. The wait afterwards is not nice. Flowers

Thank you.
I think it'll be the same as you Baroque. The lump is quite deep. Do they tell you immediately if they think it's bad news then?

They didn't speculate about it at all for me and I had a week to wait for news. I guess it might vary depending on the role of the person doing it.
