Has the sample been tested at the Drs. All these symptons seem indicative of a urine infection. On a dipstick, with an infection I would expect it to show protein raised leucocytes and maybe blood.
Ask for a repeat.

Sample was tested at the docs and sent off as it had blood in it x

Is a urine infection different to cystitis? X

You can get an inflamed bladder without having an infection, so it could be that. Infection causes inflammation, but it's not the only cause.

It sounds like an infection. testing samples is very hit and miss- there needs to be a certain amount of bacteria in the sample and if there isn't it won't show up.
Go back and ask for ABs as it sounds quite bad.
Keep your fluids up- at least 3 pints in a day.

Thanks all, saw the gp this morning who gave me abs. She said it sounds like infection just from the symptoms. X

Turns out I had a trace of blood in my wee which is normal for me. But I'm pretty sure I wiped some blood away on Tuesday x

On my third day of trimethoprim (3 day course) giving me headaches and nausea which I gather is normal. Feel better down below but still a bit tickly, like I need to go feeling. Should it be cleared by now? X

No it can take longer to clear. How long is your course of abs?

nmg85 · 20/04/2015 11:32

Sorry I saw you said 3 day course... I would go back if not cleared up. 3 days doesn't seem a long course at all. Usually 5 - 7 days.

Actually don't feel so bad today so I'll see how it goes but thanks all x

Still have a niggling headache that comes and goes but guessing that's the virus part of it? X

If you have been given antibiotics it won't be a virus it will be bacterial.
