DS2 is 17, has autism and LDs. He is on movicol as he tends to get constipated.. has had fecal impactions a few times. The last time was a couple of months ago, took a while and a lot of movicol to clear. Obviously with his difficulties it is tricky to know how 'normal' his bowels are , but he has said he has blood in his poo. I wasn't too concerned as a small tear wouldn't surprise me (he doesn't feel pain unless it is very severe) but Dh just went to the bathroom after he had been and said it was obvious there was blood :( We had thought he meant just a bit on the wipes , not a load in the bowl :(
I will make him a docs appointment asap , but what are they likely to do? He is not difficult behaviour wise but putting him through invasive tests would be very hard for him. I have had a colonoscopy and it wasn't pleasant.. is there anything they can do that is less horrible prep wise?
Also can Movicol cause bleeding? He has been on it for a few years now.
