Hi , I have posted about dd's glandular fever before, so apologies. Just wondering if anyones child has had it.

My dd first got it just before her third birthday, she is now nearly six and it comes back every year at around the same time. Sometimes it comes more than once a year but this year we have been lucky and she has only just got it again. Just looking for any tips and an understanding ear. Thanks.

My ds has had it - but so far it has not recurred. Sorry can't be of any help, but hope she feels better soon, and BUMP!

I don't know whether I can offer any reaasurance, but I will try. My DD has not had GF, but I did as a young child, I don't remember much, but do know I had to have awful lot of time off school and got a bit behind.

Now I am all grown up (lol), and have had no problems since, caught up with my studies at school and was generally fairly healthy for the rest of my childhood (apart from a tonsilectomy). I know a friends child who had it (quite often) and he turned out ok as well, I am aware that it is quite worrying when a bout occurs, but I have never heard of long term damage at all.

Hi Lucy5, I'm sorry to hear that your dd has been ill; hope she's feeling better now.
There is a possibility that my ds (3.6) may have it and I wondered what the main symptoms were? And how it was diagnosed?

Sorry I can't help you but I can definitely lend a sympathetic ear!
