Strange period ( light ).

I suffer from very heavy periods, I usually bleed lightly for a couple days followed by 3 days of very heavy bleeding and another day or 2 of light bleeding, it has been this way since having the dd's ( almost 10 years ) and even before having children they were quite heavy.

This month my period was a bit late, started friday with spotting and period pain but I'm now entering day 4 and still barely bleeding, I have hardly any period pain ( just the odd dull ache ).

The only thing that has changed slightly in my life is that I have started exercising more ( though I havnt lost weight ).

I'm kind of waiting for the couple of days where I bleed so heavy I can leave the house ( I plan around these days so I can be at home ) but so far it hasn't happened.

I am 33 years old, slightly overweight and unfit, 99% sure I can't be pregnant, any ideas?

Anyone?

When ever I google it just comes up with pregnancy and TTC boards Sad

Has anyone had a light and late period and they have not been pregnant?

Was it late bleeding?

I had implantation bleed with dd2 but it was a week before my period was due, I ovulate quite early. My period was only a few days late (I think), the chances of me being pregnant are pretty slim, do and I only DTD once this month and he assures me he didn't finish the job ( sorry if tmi ). I don't think I have any pregnancy symptoms, I hope to god I'm not pregnant Sad.

I've had that before, but I'm a lot older than you, ( 47), so it probably doesn't help you. Have you googled it?

Endler32 · 13/04/2015 20:29

I have googled, mainly comes up with pregnancy or menopause. I have had signs of early menopause but gp never listens to me ( I have had blood tests in the past which I think have ruled it out ). I guess all I can do is rule out pregnancy and then go and see my go.

I have never had a light period before apart from when I was pg with dd2 but I bled early and only for a day, this time I have been spotting for 4 days.

Sounds like menopause. Have you any other symptoms. I have a horrible metalic taste, just like when you're pregnant.

I have less symptoms than I have with a normal period, have been having hot flushes for the past few year, I usually have terrible dreams before my period starts too ( this month not so bad ). My periods have been awful for the last year or so, very heavy and painful, not always regular, have been back and forth to my go and have tried several things. I had a scan 18 months ago which showed a few small cysts but nothing major. Early menopause does run in the family, my mum had a hysterectomy in her early 40's due to similar problems ( same with her mum too ).

I don't think I have pregnancy symptoms, just normal period symptoms but a lot more mild than I'm used too, I have lower back and hip pain which I always get when I'm due on but I don't have the terrible cramping.
