So just thought I'd keep folk up to date with my latest info (if anyone interested lol!!) but had lots of people asking on previous threads to keep them informed.......
So I was diagnosed with a 4.5cm cyst on my left ovary in November. Saw gynae in jan who referred me for a 3 month rescan. Hence today's appointment ........ Had another scan last week so today was to see the gynae consultant. I am completely freaking out at the idea of surgery. Never had an op and am petrified of having to have a GA! So consultant today was beyond fantastic! Lovely manner, immediately put me at ease, (banter is a great thing when you're anxious!). Told me the cyst has shrunk ever so slightly and my ca125 results are normal (reading 16, was 8, but he explained that's still totally normal and any sort of peritoneal aggravation can elevate it. Diahorrea etc) anyway he has said to come back again in 3 months and actually says did I WANT to see him as probably not necessary? I said I did as would rather see him in case I have questions etc.
So explained that I am still getting discomfort he says it's not the cyst it may be hormonal/IBS or just plain old anxiety? Feeling like I could dance naked down the street lol! Honestly thought he was gonna tell me I was being referred for surgery!!! My cyst is bilocular which, initially the sonographer put the fear of God in me saying how unlikely they are to go by themselves?! Consultant says I could've had this cyst for literally years and years with no symptoms.
Anyway that's my update so feeling a lot better. Xx
