Mefenamic acid

I have been prescribed mefenamic acid to deal with utterly horrific period pain. I have an appointment for an ultrasound in a couple of weeks. The tablets seem to be helping with the pain - only started them yesterday - but they are taking about 90 minutes to 'kick in' and are making me feel really spaced out and peculiar. I was out this afternoon and felt like I was bouncing, not walking.

Normal?

I had ponstan forte prescribed in my younger years which iirc is same. It was most effective taken with food and yes it did make me feel floaty.

Yes, that's the brand name for what I have been given. I have been taking it with food but wowzers, do I feel strange! And still in pain.

I am being investigated for fibroids. If I don't have them, what's next?
