Fell off my horse yesterday onto my head (and headcam). Felt fine and go back on, carried on the ride. Then when I got home I got a mild headache and have tenderness at the front of my head, wasnt sure if headache could have been dehydration as didnt drink much yesterday. Woke up today and my neck and shoulders are a bit annoyed (i dont blame them!!) had no headache but I can feel a mild one coming on now.
When I fell I didnt lose consciousness, didnt even see stars , I felt perfectly normal. If it is concussion am I right in thinking its just rest that is needed anyway. You may be able to guess I am not good with hospitals!! (Am emetophobic), so id rather keep away from them!!

The main signs to look for are nausea, vomiting, severe headache & drowsiness. May be ring a healrh direct line to check if you need to see a Dr. You can get delayed concussion.

Also check that your vision isn't blurred or if you get double vision.

not sure but would def think about getting new riding hat if yours has had an impact.

Done all the horses this morning and i am spending the afternoon relaxing as im exhausted , had a very busy couple of weeks as been looking after my friends three horses at another yard (she fell off two weeks ago and got severe concussion herself then had a close bereavement ) so ive been run ragged. No nausea, double vision or severe drowsiness just got a mild headache and neck and shoulders feel a bit whiplashed. I will get my hat checked and will get a new one if it is advised (wish my hat wasnt so damned expensive tho!!) Bloody horses, although to be fair it was all my fault.

DD had concussion without (probably) even hitting her head - her car spun through 360 degrees at 70, bouncing off the barrier & ending up on the hard shoulder (she was unbelievably lucky)

Anyway fwiw she had symptoms immediately - her speech became very slow & her short-term memory was completely shot.

It doesn't sound as if you have anything like that so not a massive worry atm but do keep monitoring yourself. And, yes, resting.
