A bit of history; I was suffering with a painful shoulder around Christmas and finally went to see GP where he diagnosed RSI, gave me a prescription for ibuprofen and told me if it didn't ease I may need cortisone(sp?) injections. Since then it did ease for a while, but I have since developed a very painful elbow (outside), there is a noticeable nonetheless lump and some swelling, my shoulder is also very painful again. The pain wakes me up at night. Went to GP last week and was diagnosed with Tennis Elbow, told to take ibuprofen and he suggested a splint (which I have done).

I don't do any activity related to the normal causes of tennis elbow and reading different sites don't really have the pain as suggested is usual with this. It is becoming very dilapating, for instance I'm struggling to lift a cup of tea!

Any advice/suggestions?

If it's tennis elbow you need to see a physio to work of strengthing the muscles in your arm and wrist, doctor can you refer you. In terms of pain relief you would be better with a slow release anti inflammatory such as naproxen. Hope you get better soon tennis elbow is horrible.
