dd2 said she was feeling sick this morning, but appeared to be fine, no temp, not pale, not vomiting, not coughing, no snot (she says she feels sick afetr just coughing after running, so its hard to tell with her sometimes) when i picked her up from nursery her cheeks felt a touch warm. she is now very rosy cheeked, and rosy chinned. her face feels hot all over. but she seems fine in herself. has eaten dinner and asked for pud, is drinking well.

allergic reaction to anything?

CountessDracula · 01/11/2006 18:54

parvovirus?

(also called slapped cheek or fifth disease)

Greensleeves · 01/11/2006 18:57

Has she played outside a lot at nursery today? Mine are both very ruddy tonight, they have been running about in the cold and I think it's windburn.

misdee · 01/11/2006 19:07

says she was out for playtime, about 15minutes i think.

i used the car today to take dd2 to and from nursery, so wasnt getting wind chilled then.

doesnt look like normal allergy rash to me.

have given some medised. does slapped cheek spread to other parts of the body?

what do you think?

ignore the sauce on her face lol. the redness started before she ate, so not a reaction.

I agree with CD, looks like it could very well be Fifth's Disease. I believe this goes away on it's own, it was so long ago for us.

misdee · 01/11/2006 19:44

that means no nursery right?

Slapped cheek also appears as a more purplish lacy rash on the body and legs after the redness on the face. Otherwsie could it be Scarlet Fever , as it looks rough, is her throat sore ?

misdee · 01/11/2006 19:47

she is asleep so cant ask her. oops, maybe she did feel unwell this morning

she seemed fine and was eating well, and didnt have a rash or temp when i dropped her off

my son had it & looked like id hit him across face or sunburn.

can be dangerous if they've been around pregnant women, unfortionatly for me he had it when i was pregnant, everything was ok though.

they cant got to nursery with it.

id get it checked tomorrow.

My ds looks the same today I thought it was just the cold as he was out for a walk before.
