Shall I carry on using the pill?

I haven't used the pill before and it was advised to me that I start it on the first day of my period, however I wanted to have intercourse before that and so I started the pill around half a months early. I then took the pill for around 9 days before having intercourse, which I also used a condom to be safer, and have carried on taking the pill continuously through when I was originally supposed to have my period. Shall I carry on taking the pill until the packet ends and then have withdrawal bleeding for seven days and then carry on the pill as normal? Will this ensure that I am definitely not pregnant? Or shall I come off the pill now and wait for my normal period to resume before taking the pill again?

You can start it at any time but take extra precautions for 7 days. If you take it on the first day of your period you are protected immediately. I would just take the rest of the packet, have your 7 day break and then start the new pack. Any bleeds you will have will now be withdrawal bleeds rather than a proper period
