Front Tooth extraction or apicoectomy, a bit lost what to do?

I have two front teeth which have had root canal and crowns. Recently after several years one of them has an abscess, I've had antibiotics for 10 days. Been referred to endodontics to see if i am suitable for a apicoectomy.

I am nervous after watching a video of apicoectomy and hearing that it can cause the gum to shorten on surrounding teeth as well due to the procedure. But implants also have surgical intervention so I am not sure what to do?

Please advice, Confused
Thanks

I had this done 9 years ago. My tooth / gum looks exactly the same as it always has so I wouldn't worry too much about possible gum shortening etc

I would certainly have an apicectomy first. Yes, it's a surgical intervention, but much less traumatic than an implant.

Apicoectomy are fairly standard & generally straightforward in front teeth (where root canal hasn't worked)It is definitely worth having it done. The ones I have assisted on have been successful.Good Luck!
