just been told ds aged2 has heart murmer?

i know these murmers can come and go in kids and when ds has had 2 anaesthetics over the last few months nothing has been mentioned so presume it wasnt there then.

he has got ongoing health problems which paeds are struggling to diagnose.im wondering if anyone has heart murmer and could tell me if you can actually feel it yourself as one of ds's symptons is tapping his chest and saying "hurt".

No personal experience, sorry...though have SIL with heart murmur, and no, she has never had any pain from it (or problems - and she has two kids herself!).

thanks for bumping eliboo. sounds morbid but was hoping the "chest tapping" would be because he could feel his heart racing or palpitating or similar. so frustrating

I had a heart murmur as a child (aged 9) - don't remember ever feeling it as such. Certainly never told my mum as she was shocked when it was diagnosed. Mine was due to undiagnosed over-active thyroid and once that was under control, the heart murmur went away.

Hope they find out what is wrong with your DS very soon but I'm sure if they felt the heart murmur was a major problem they'd whisk him into hospital to be observed. Hope that helps, you must be worried about your LO.

thanks kbear, it is very frustrating,i hate seeing him sick and hes been poorly for 2years now, been diagnosed with onething but cant get to the bottom of what else is wrong. got paed appointment in 2weeks so il see what they say
