Why does my mother ring me up to tell me to go to Boots and get free fish oils because the doctor on the TV said so?

FGS. Just feed your kids fish.

Could be easier said than done for some parents. Luckily DS loves his fish!

My mother rings me up regularly to tell me to try this supplement and that supplement and don't let dd eat the ends of bananas 'cos flies lay their eggs in them

Trouble is, some of the ideas might be sensible - but its like looking for a needle in a haystack, so I chuck the lot out.

My dd loves fish, but she loves haliborange omega-something capsules even more - so she gets both

yup. my DS loves fish too.. luckily he has quite a healthy palette, loving fruit and most veg. I like to think that if we all eat right, this will prevent the need to spend a fortune in holland and baratt on suplements (although i have to confess to taking evening primrose and vit c)

LOL at banana-flies

WHERE do they get these ideas from?

Um...their mothers, possibly?!

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 01/11/2006 11:53

No I blame TV and radio doctors.

she's constantly ringing up to say he's on talking about this that and the other. Why isn't he in his surgery treating patients instead of giving old women with too much time on their hands dangerous ideas?
