Kidney Stones - Any experience please?!

So after what I thought was a kidney infection turned out to be stones.

A CT scan confirmed I had one average size 7mm stone in left kidney and a rather large 30mm stone in my right. They 've given me tablets to try and pass the smaller one but said surgery is needed for the larger.

Does anyone have any experience of either the surgery or the tablets to help pass smaller ones?!

TIA

I don't, but poor you, they are meant to be super-painful.

They really were, like labour back pain without a little bundle at the end what's worse is as I hadn't seen a doctor first they wouldn't prescribe me any pain relief, I was sat crying my eyes out on a ward full of people. Was so embarrassed.

I'm just waiting to pass the smaller stone. It's horrible not knowing when its going to happen.

More worried about the surgery now though after reading up up on it .
