Continuation of fit note- is it dated from when it's requested or does it run from when previous one ends?

My note is dated until Tuesday so have to call for it to be renewed as I'm still unwell, I'm all confused due to the bank holiday! If I call today to ask would it be dated from today, or would it be another two weeks from this Tuesday? Thanks

When we've had them in the last year we made GP appts either on the day it ran out, or afterwards - in which case the Fit Note was backdated from when the last one ran out.

We create ours electronically and you can't forward date them.(usually crashes the whole system grr) so I either start them from the day I am writing it and add on the extra days that are duplicated. So if you had asked for one today that didn't run out until Monday (for say a week) I would have done it from today for 11 days. Or I would do it on Tuesday and back date it. As long as you are covered for all the days it doesn't matter.
