Gallbladder infection?

I'm havering ongoing issues with my gallbladder and am due to have it out towards the end of May (so know the acute pain of gallbladder attacks)

I'm just wondering if you always have severe pain when it is infected? Stupid question I know, but I'm ill with what I think is a regular virus but have the runs, nausea and a high temp. I haven't eaten anything for three days so my gallbladder isn't really getting any use (on a low/no fat diet to control symptoms anyway). I'm also in sole charge of two under threes with no family help near by and I'm nervous incase it takes a turn for the worst.

I know all too well the pain of gallbladder attacks and infection!

My gallbladder got infected this time last year. The pain was unbearable... Was under my ribs into my shoulder blade and when the gp touched it I went through the roof. I was also violently sick and couldn't eat.

I had my gallbladder out in Sept and it's been amazing. It was infected and had stuck to my liver but glad it's out.

Thanks, for the reply. Went to the doc yesterday he said it's possible its a gallbladder infection and put me on antibiotics. He said if it doesn't improve I might need iv antibiotics (he didn't seem hopeful that they would). I just don't think it is a gallbladder infection as while I feel like death with high temp etc my actual gallbladder area is not too bad compared to the pain I'm normally in with attacks. But if not that then what as I'm not getting any better after 6 days and actually getting worse.
