Hypermobilty Syndrome?

I have thought for some time that I and other family members may have HMS. My DS is 13.5 mths & has only started crawling. He can't pull himself up & can only momentarily support his weight standing whilst held on my knee. I'm worrying he has muscle tone issues & therefore ??HMS Is there any point in getting a diagnosis for myself & so make it a speedier route for my son to be formally assessed?? I am going to spk to HV re this at his (overdue) 12mth assessment. I have already had him with GP re late moving & weight support issues; was told "Hmmm"…"not sure. Watch him & bring him back if you're concerned". I ache all over constantly, badly in particular spots, have def got hyper mobile hips, 2 prolapsed discs & drop foot syndrome, wear orthotics, am extremely bendy in certain joints, have looked at Beighton & think I score 5 ish. Have had physic lots in the past, SPD quite badly in last 2 pregnancies. All coincidental? Should I pursue for me? What would I gain from a formal diagnosis? Will def pursue for my son….
